The Space Between to premiere this Sunday

September · 07 · 2011

Among the many television specials commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks on America is an independent movie featuring Weeds star Hunter Parrish.

The Space Between premieres on USA Network as part of its Characters Unite film series. It airs commercial-free on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011, at 9p/8c and again at 10:53p/9:53c.

Academy Award winner Melissa Leo stars as a flight attendant whose plane is grounded on 9/11/01. Also on that flight is a 10-year-old Pakistani-American boy whose father works at the World Trade Center. With air travel suspended and the child’s father’s fate unknown, Leo’s character decides to drive the boy from Texas to New York.

Weeds star Hunter Parrish appears in a supporting role as McDonough.

The film has won three awards, including a special mention at the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival.

Also airing on USA that night is Twin Towers, a documentary about two brothers, a New York City police officer and fireman, at work on Sept. 11, 2011. It will also air commercial-free at 10:21p/9:21c and 12:14a/11:14c on USA Network.

These specials are just two of the dozens of films, documentaries, and news specials slated to commemorate this weekend’s 10th anniversary of the worst terrorist attacks in American history.
